NextEngine Scanning
Erin McMahon, Walter Kesaris and I got together on Friday to use the NextEngine desktop laser scanner. Even though it creates a lot of data, it kind of seemed like the 'Model T' of laser scanners due to the awkward software setup. The scanning device, which kind of looks like an old answering machine (remember those?) has to be connected to the desktop with a USB cable for the software to work. It makes it kind of hard to do anything remotely.
In any case, we scanned Erins broken Fox candle, and powdered his shiny eyes so they would register on the scanner.
You can see he looks kind of powdery here.....
We then met up with Erin Ward and Stephanie Heher on Sunday and walked them through using the NextEngine device while working on our Macon Story Maps project...
